What does “ADGOR” mean?
Adgor is the year of the horse in the ancient Bulgarian calendar. The Horse is the symbol of the celestial beginning, the sun, the freedom and indomitable will of the Bulgarians. That is why we named the riding complex after the year of the horse. Our ancestors saw in the horse a sacred animal symbolizing the heavens and deified it as Tangra. The Bulgarians’ strong bond to the horse can be traced back to antiquity.
The ancient Bulgarians are said to have had profound knowledge of the basic principles of planetary motion and the Earth orbiting around the Sun and to have incorporated this knowledge into one of the most consummate and flawless calendars to date. The biggest calendar unit, however, was not a year, but rather a period comprised of 12 years. The names of the years within that period were named after different animals. The ancient Bulgarian calendar is the most accurate in the world. This fact has officially been recognized by UNESCO. ADGOR is the seventh year in the Bulgarian calendar.

I love my work. Dealing with horses, I encounter challenges and find contentment from overcoming them. When I am on horseback out in the wild, I feel truly alive. I have two children and I’m glad they have the opportunity to communicate freely with horses. There’s no pretense when it comes to horses.

I’ve been dealing with horses for as long as I can remember. A decade in the US developed and changed my attitude towards horses. I gained experience in western riding, horse breaking, horse training, working with problem horses, cattle, and roping. I lived and worked with professional cowboys. I attended Monty Roberts clinics. I had the chance to learn and practice the principles of natural horsemanship, to see over time what unexpected results I can achieve using this foundation. Coming back to Bulgaria my main goal is to develop and spread the art of natural horsemanship in the country.

I am a down-to-earth kind of guy. I love to be with my family and friends. In my work with horses I found a balance between responsibility and freedom. My dream is to get on the horse and ride off to somewhere. To be calm with the horse and vise versa, to be sure that the two of us will be able to cope with any obstacle. And just like that, to ride without a purpose, because that’s what makes me happy.

Horses are my life. I tried to live and work away from them, but I understood that I couldn’t.
I quit my job with a prestigious company in Sofia and I don’t regret it. I feel whole again and happy to be close to the horses. Since I was a kid I’ve been riding bareback around Stara Planina. I gained extensive experience with draft horses. I have a soft spot for big horses and plump women.
