HORSEBACK RIDING AND WORKING WITH THE HORSE
BEGINNERS CLASS – Basic Subjects and Lessons:
Theoretical Training – Five (5) Hours
- Personal behavior and safety around horses
- Familiarizing with our horses (name, breed, history, peculiarities, etc.)
- Historic Evolution of the Horse – from the wild stage to domestication
- General popular anatomy of the horse
- Popular breeds of horses

- Behavior of the horse

- behavioral differences based on their sex and age
- interrelationship of horses within the herd

Practical Training
Groundwork / Practice with the Horse Twenty Five (25) Hours
- Putting on & taking off the halter (headpiece)
- Mastering the different parts of the horse and leading
- Bringing out the horse from the pasture; procedures and methods for leading away
- Approaching safely an unfamiliar horse – methodology
- Bringing out the horse from the stall (stable); procedures and methods for leading away
- Grooming and preparing the horse for riding
- Saddling up the horse from each side
- Bridling
- Essential knots used in working with a horse
- Riding – Seventy (70) Hours + Eight (8) Hours (free of charge)
- Mount and dismount the horse – on each side.
- Acquiring “independent seat” in the saddle while moving at a walk, trot and gallop.
- Acquiring the skill in “seating” trot, “posting” trot and “hunt seat” trot.
- Acquiring the skill in “seating” gallop and “hunt seat” gallop.
- Learning at least three ways of stopping the horse in all circumstances.
- Learning the general principles of rein-work.
Price 2,200 Leva (BGN)
The Tuition for the Course could be spread over Three (3) payments:
First payment – one thousand (1000) leva at signing up;
Second – six hundred (600) leva at the end of the second month;
Third – six hundred (600) leva at the end of the fourth month.
There is a 5% discount for payment-in-full at signing up for the Course.
All quoted prices are without VAT.
The Course is taught over six (6) months and requires earnest attendance – three (3) times a week. The instructions are held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The instructions are scheduled one (1) hour per attendance for the first month, and two (2) hours per attendance thereafter – for the duration of the course.
The frequency of attendance during the Course as well as the length of the instructions can
be adjusted and renegotiated whenever necessary. There is an added charge for missing
more than three appointed attendances.
The training course in question is directed towards practical and “Western” riding, and
does not address the sport disciplines of “dressage,” “show-jumping” and “racing.”
Upon successful completion of the Course, the attendees take an Exam before a Board of
Examiners comprised of minimum three (3) Instructors. Should additional hours of Theory
and/or any segment of Practical Training become necessary prior to taking the exam,
ADGOR offers additional hours at the preferential rate of twenty (20) leva/hour.
The Exam fee is Ninety (90) leva.
The Attendees who have successfully past the exam will receive.
“GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN PRACTICAL RIDING – BEGINNER”
and could continue their training at the advanced levels offered here at ADGOR or other training centers.
The acquired skills and knowledge are entirely individual & subjective and depend to
a great degree on the physical abilities and personal motivation of the students.
Graduates of the Third Level of our Training Courses could have the opportunity to work
here at Equestrian Center “ADGOR” as Instructors.
